Inka Jungle Trail 3D/2N

 

This is one of the most complete routes around the World, we make our tour through a beautiful landscape in the valley痴 immensity and jungle痴 edge arriving to the thermal springs in Cocalmayo after enjoying the nature with its vegetation and fauna we値l appreciate fruit plantations, exotic animals, to finally arrive and meet the first marvel of the modern world Machupicchu.

 

Schedule:

 

Day 1: Cusco - Ollantaytambo - Abra Malaga - Santa Maria - Quellomayo

 

We start the pick up time at 07:20am. destination Abra Malaga, (Malaga Pass), but before this we’ll journey along the Sacred Valley of the Incas where we’ll be able to appreciate a panoramic view of Cusco city, Chinchero, Urubamba, and Ollantaytambo up to an altitude of 4330 meters (14,289 ft.) watching impressive landscapes as well as the mountain chain Veronica a trip of approximately 3 hours arriving at Abra Malaga 4315 meters (14239 ft.) From this place we’ll start our adventure on mountain bike through the most beautiful landscapes, we’ll appreciate the La Convención Valley’s immensity down to a warmer area, jungle’s edge with abundant vegetation typical of the jungle, we’ll have our lunch in the jungle on our path will find remnants of an original Inca trail that leads to Machupicchu.

 

Once we arrive in Santa Maria we'll have lunch in a local restaurant, then we will start hiking close to the river margin, heading to Quellomayo at 7 hours distance. On the way we will climb the hills to an old inca stone path which is still in use by the villagers for transportation of their goods. Upon arrival in Quellomayo we'll have dinner in Andy's house an English friend's lodge in the jungle, stay there for the night camping or in the lodge.

     

Day 2: Quellomayo - Thermal Springs - Santa Teresa - Aguas Calientes

 

Very early in the morning we値l have our breakfast with natural fruit juices and typical fruits of the region, we start to hike at 07:30am. Through paths full of vegetation, fruit trees where we値l be able to appreciate Coca parcels the sacred Inca leaf, coffee and banana crops the flora and fauna of the area, medicinal plants, birds, butterflies, snakes, exotic jungle fruits like mangoes, pineapples, papayas, avocado, lemons, etc...We値l visit a local family home; appreciate beautiful waterfalls of the area. We値l have a fantastic adventure crossing the river in an oroya (a hanging by a cable basket), we will visit the thermal springs (optional) in Cocalmayo where you can have a nice hot bath, after this we will arrive to Santa Teresa village 1570 meters. (5181 ft.) for lunch and where we will purchase the train tickets (optional) to board from the hydroelectric train station, (or we can continue walking from this place) to Aguas Calientes. Once in Aguas Calientes, we'll check in our hotel for the night, dinner and wait for our resident guide for instructions for the next day visit to the inca city.

 

Day 3: Machu Picchu Cusco

 

After breakfast early in the morning we'll get ready to visit the wonder of the modern world, the Machu Picchu we値l board a bus up to the gate or climb the hill at 5:00am. It will take 25 minutes on bus or 1 ス hours climbing the stairs to get to the archaeological complex where we will have a guided visit that will last around 2 1/2 hours, after the visit we will have some free time to explore the surroundings and take pictures it is optional if you want to climb the Huaynapicchu from where we will have an spectacular view of Machupicchu after this we値l descend to the village and board our train back to Cusco city, the trip will take approximately 4 hours.
