We’ll first arrive in Pisaq 32 Kms. from the Imperial city, A picturesque village where can be distinguished the colonial characteristical neighbourhood. The main attraction is the Indian traditional market where it can be find a great variety of typical objects made in ceramic and regional textiles. We’ll admire the typical colourful costumes used by the locals; we’ll also observe their ancient customs of commercializing. We’ll visit the ancient colonial church where priests still celebrates Sunday mass in Quechua. “The Varayocs” (local authorities from different cities) we’ll visit the archaeological complex of Pisaq where we’ll be able to appreciate the interesting water channel system for irrigating the land and a fabulous Inca astronomical observatory.
Heading to Urubamba we’ll ride through the villages of Coya, Lamay, Calca, and Yucay. Urubamba is surrounded by beautiful landscapes with abundant flora and fauna were the highlight is the Chicon white peak. Urubamba is located in the heart of the Sacred Valley it’s a very comfortable and fertile area, and is an important pre-Hispanic agricultural centre. We’ll take our lunch in a typical restaurant surrounded by this very pleasant environment.
At noon we’ll be heading to Ollantaytambo also known as Tambo Valley the only inhabited Inca city, is one peculiar site by its surprising archaeological remains in Cusco Peru, by the architectural singularity, size, style, and originality of each of its buildings. We’ll visit here the archaeological remains and the typical market.
On our way back to Cusco we’ll stop by to visit Chinchero, another archaeological centre in the Sacred Valley and its little church. It used to be an important agricultural centre and is best known now by its Indian market were they still use the barter system for trading products, this village is smaller than others but still richer in traditions, and offers at the same time a great variety concerning textiles, Return to Cusco.
