Overview:

 

This family trip combines the nature and wildlife of the Peruvian Amazon with the wonders of Machu Picchu. Come and experience a real adventure. You will stay at the Sandoval Lake Lodge with easy access to viewing monkeys, otters, turtles and Black Caymans at Sandoval Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes of the Amazon. In addition, this trip includes the wonders of Machu Picchu, Cusco and the Sacred Valley of the Incas. All of this with our “immersion” style and in full private service.

 

Day By Day Itinerary:

 

Day 1: Arrival to Lima

 

· Upon arrival in Lima private transfer from airport to your hotel in Miraflores

· Overnight in Miraflores

 

Day 2: Swimming with Sea Lions (B)

 

· Private transfer from your hotel to the Callao harbor

· Private boat excursion to the Palomino Islands

· Observation of birds, penguins, and a great opportunity to share the water with the friendly sea lions

· After tour, private transfer to your hotel

· Rest of the day at leisure

· Optional: Lima City Tour; Colonial District and Magical Water Circuit.

· Overnight in Miraflores - Lima

 

Day 3: Flight from Lima to Puerto Maldonado (L,D)

 

· Flight from Lima to Pto Maldonado (included)

· Upon arrival met by tour guide and transfer to the river port

· 30 minutes motor boat to the Tambopata Reserve, followed by short trekking and canoe ride to the Sandoval Lake Lodge

· During the afternoon enjoy introductory walks around the jungle lodge and lake

· Overnight at Sandoval Lake Lodge

 

Day 4: Amazon Sandoval Lake (B,L,D)

 

· Early morning sunrise at the Sandoval Lake and canoe tour to see the giant otters, fishes, and birds

· Late breakfast at the lodge

· Rest of the morning at leisure to enjoy the nature of the Amazon jungle

· During the afternoon another Lake Sandoval excursion to see different types of monkeys and Black Caymans, large members of the alligator family

· Overnight at Sandoval Lake Lodge

 

Day 5: Flight from the Amazon to Cusco – Sacred Valley (B)

 

· After a dawn breakfast, final short paddle around the west end of the lake for a glimpse of the Giant Otters before returning to Puerto Maldonado

· Motor boat back to Puerto Maldonado

· Flight from Puerto Maldonado to Cusco

· Upon arrival in Cusco private transfer Airport – Pisaq town located in the Sacred Valley at lower elevation than Cusco for altitude acclimatization

· Stops along the way from airport to Sacred Valley at view points and a visit to an Animal Recovery Center for observation of condors, pumas, macaws, llamas and alpacas

· Rest of the day at leisure. Optional: In the late afternoon Peruvian Pizza cooking lessons at your hotel

· Overnight in the Sacred Valley

 

Day 6: Sacred Valley of the Incas (B,L)

 

· Full day private Sacred Valley tour including: Pisaq ruins, Pisaq market, local corn beer brewery, Ollantaytambo ruins, Ollantaytambo town

 

Day 7: Maras Moray Tour (B,L)

 

· Full day Maras Moray tour including: Maras town, San Francisco Church, Circular Terraces of Moray, the Andean Salt Terraces of Maras

· There is also the opportunity to tour Maras town by donkey (Recommended for children)

· Private picnic lunch in a strategic point with a great view of the Sacred Valley and its glaciers

· Optional: We can take mountain bikes with us, to do part of this tour by bike. (Great option)

· Overnight in the Sacred Valley

 

Day 8: Train to Machu Picchu (B)

 

· In the morning 2 hour train from the Sacred Valley to Aguas Calientes

· During the afternoon private tour of Machu Picchu (Afternoons in Machu Picchu are less crowded and more peaceful)

· Overnight in Aguas Calientes

 

Day 9: Machu Picchu – Cusco (B)

 

· Full day free in Machu Picchu

· Wayna Picchu climbing: Optional

· In the late afternoon, train Machu Picchu – Cusco

· Overnight in Cusco

 

Day 10: Cusco City Tour (B,D)

 

· In the morning, private City Tour including: Sacsayhuaman, San Pedro local market, Cusco Cathedral and Temple of the Sun, “Koricancha”

· Rest of the day at leisure

· Special goodbye dinner with show

· Overnight in Cusco

 

Day 11: Flight from Cusco to Lima – Your Destination (B)

 

· Private transfer Hotel – Cusco airport

· Flight Cusco – Lima (included)

· International Flight Home
