Inca Trail (2days / 1night) Daily Departures
Itinerary:
Day 1: Cusco - Km 104 - Cchachabamba - Wiñaywayna - Machupicchu
Early morning pick up from your hotel heading to Cusco or Ollantaytambo train stations, following the Urubamba river up to the 104 Km. of the train tracks where we will get off the train cross the pedestrian bridge to start our hike through the Inca Trail visiting the archaeological site of Chachabamba after a brief visit to this charming complex full of water fountains and channels we will continue with our hike climbing for four hours approximately. This path will take us through an impressive landscape over the great valley then close to a waterfall near the WIÑAYWAYNA (Always Young) archaeological citadel. We will climb to the most exquisite place of the Inca trail
walking through a chain of ceremonial bathrooms and elegant curved terraces linking our path with the main Inca trail. We’ll climb through a steep hill side across an exuberant cloud forest full of giant ferns and plants of wide leaves. Suddenly we arrive to the lithic threshold of INTIPUNKO (Sun Gate). And we will stand in front of an unforgettable natural beautiful view of a winding cannon, peaks covered with vegetation as background to the magic city of Machupicchu. We’ll walk our way down the last half hour through the royal stone path across altars and buildings through the heart of Machupicchu we’ll board a tourist bus that will take us to Aguas Calientes where we will stay for the night in a local hotel after check-in we can visit the thermal springs and have a nice hot bath for the night we will enjoy our dinner.
Day 2: Machupicchu - Cusco
Early in the morning we can enjoy a day of guided and individual exploring learning details about this fascinating and mysterious Inca settlement. Some will like to climb the Waynapicchu summit (optional), to appreciate an alucinating perspective of this Inca site. While others would prefer to stay down and investigate and recognize the hidden corners of this wonderful archaeological Inca city of Machupicchu. After a complete visit of this glorious monument of Inca civilization we’ll go back to Aguas Calientes and board our train back to Cusco city. Reception and transfer to your hotel.
